Honorable Mentions:
Belly
This can be debated if this film should be in the list. It does not go into depth about music, art, dance, etc. Its more of a drama gangster hood flick were rappers show their acting skill and is directed by a known Hip hop music video director "Hype Williams"and a great music during the film as well as the soundtrack. Without a doubt its a classic film in will be in most Top 10 Hip Hop movies list.

Breakin
Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo

Honorable Mentions go to Notorious & All Eyes on Me. They did not make the list for they are biopics about artists who are no longer here and the films suffered in the telling of their story. Were Biopics such as 8 Mile and Straight outta Compton the artist were alive (minus Eazy Z) and we highly acclaimed films.
8 Mile (won an acadamy award for best song)
Straight outta Compton (became the highest grossing musical biopic of all-time in the United States )
